Today is about as far from the topic as I could wish. It is wet and cool, a perfect day to sit, reminisce and enjoy blogging.
I’d like to take you to Morocco and on a camel trek into the Sahara Desert. We spent a couple of nights out here, one in lovely hotel and another in a tent out by the dunes.
I bought this wee fellow from a young girl sitting in the dunes. When I see him I can close my eyes and the following images come flooding back
We climbed the dune behind our camp in the morning and enjoyed the rising sun. The desert is incredible, the colours change with the time of the day. It is dry vast and radiates heat.

Amazing photos! I’ve always wanted to visit Morocco – I’d love to see the mosaics in architecture and also do a desert safari. Which city did you go to Sahara from? Although you can probably go fom any town, I guess! Were there scorpions at night? Sorry, have to ask! 🙂 And I’ve heard the stars at night are gorgeous in the desert?

Didn’t see scorpions in Morrocco but they did appear when I was in the desert in Namibia. The stars were great. We went from Near Fez, a place called Mekenes, Moulay Idris ( My daily post challenge for Intricate has some pictures of the ruins there) Through the Atlas mountains and Todra dades gorge to the desert some where around there, Have to go through my diary! and then out through Ourazazate to Marakesh. also did Casablanca, Chechaouen amazing! and Essaouiria. It was an excellent trip.

Lol, Is this week Dry? This post is meant to be dry, It is just that today it was raining the exact opposite of the topic so was a good chance to hang and and blog about Dry.

Wow! This is awesome. I am sure it must have been a thrilling experience. And I have heard Marrakesh is beautiful. I have tasted the food from that place and I really enjoyed it.

It was! I was with 2 good friends, we did most of the trip using local transport but for the Desert leg we hired a car and a driver for 6 days and went from Mekenes across the desert to via Todra and Dantes Gorge and Ourazazate to Marrakesh. It was actually surprisingly cheap, included all accommodation and meals, a very comfortable ride in a large air conditioned Land cruiser and our guide spoke English. By memory it was about $400 US each. We could stop and do what we wanted where and when. Was fabulous!
