White Marble , The Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal, a mausoleum and tribute to the favourite wife of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. This building is surely one of the most iconic and recognized structures in the world. The emperor ordered it to be built between 1631 and 1648. It is made of white marble, it is massive, opulent and pristine while outside it’s gates the hustle and bustle of the crazy and dirty streets surge and swerve with a mass of humanity, animals, and vehicles.

Architecturally the building is fascinating, it is totally symmetrical and the facts and figures with regard to materials and manpower astound. Historically it is a novel of epic proportions. Built by royalty it is considered to be a jewel in the crown of Indian Muslim art.
