Hakone – Hot Spring Haven

Poem – Special Place Special friends.

Lush green

Moss covered rocks

Tall straight majestic cedars

Nestled among mountains and valleys

Nature’s noises

Wind rustling leaves

Gurgling stream over rocks

Frenetic city beat fades away

Day begins

Outdoor sculpture park

Leisurely stroll, thoughts challenged

Soul soothed by nature’s setting

Tucked away

Japanese tea garden

A calming cultural moment

Bitter green macha tea complemented

By a sweet traditional bean cake

A gentle lady in a kimono serves.

Stars, moon

Our day ends

hot spring bath, soaking

Sweet dreams come easy tonight.

Tomorrow anticipated with a warm smile

    • Thanks Jacqueline. I went for a poem rather than the structure dictated Haiku – 3 lines, 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables. I tied a haiku post a while back and had fun with it and it did create a funny debate of the number of syllables in certain words! This time I just enjoyed trying to increase each line by one word. wrote the poem first and them matched my pics. I really enjoyed your post on the mosque!
