Imagine!

Reading snappshot’s post on his happy place took me back to N.Y Central Park, a great day wandering around and a quiet contemplative time sitting and paying my respects to the late John Lennon. This is one of my favourite pictures from that day.

John Lennon was a wild child of the 60’s. He seemed to have found his personal peace as a man but was taken from his family, loved ones and the world far too soon, when he was shot at the age of 40 in 1980. It was a horribly violent end for a man who had become in his own right a peace ambassador.

The lyrics to his song “Imagine” seem so simple as a concept and in sentiment, yet in reality so difficult to achieve for many. I do like to imagine a peaceful world without poverty and hatred. For many this may seem unimaginable but I like to go with positive and like John say “Imagine!”

Don’t focus on what can’t be done but ask what steps however small can be taken towards making this dream come to fruition. Just saying!

“Imagine”

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today…Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one

John Lennon, you have gone but your songs live on forever.
R.I.P
