A Momma’s View shared a great quote by Crazy Horse, a Native American and it led me to comment the following on her page.
Indigenous people have some of the most beautiful and wise sayings. I think it is because they, their traditions and culture are often so connected to mother earth. It is not about changing but embracing.
In a previous post I shared a Maori blessing. The Maori are the indigenous people of New Zealand. Their traditional beliefs place great importance on the earth and nature.
I love this Native American Apache blessing, ancient, wise and kind. I love how it embraces the beauty of nature and mother earth. It seems all encompassing to me. It leaves me feeling warm and hopeful. The message is not only one of love and wishing someone a wonderful life but is also environmental. To me it also says look after mother earth and she will look after you.

This is such a beautiful blessing; and as you say, grounded in our connectedness to our world.

Oh this is so true! I love how you presented your idea. Specially this one: “Indigenous people have some of the most beautiful and wise sayings. I think it is because they, their traditions and culture are often so connected to mother earth. It is not about changing but embracing.”

lol. “Great minds think alike” or as my mum liked to say “fools never differ” I personally think we should go with great minds! I hope I haven’t stolen your thunder!

Hehehe… oh yeah, let’s go with great minds :-). Oh no, not at all! Words like in the Apache Blessing need to be shared. And thanks to you I know the Maori Blessing now too.
