In response to Cee’s Compose yourself Challenge – Leading Lines
Straight forward (or across) Leading Lines
My Curving Leading Lines

Under Belly Of Tokyo. I found this interesting. It’s a photo of under the motorway but by looking up the outside edge of the overhead motorway really pulls my eye around
Now a Leading question.
To me the following photos have strong leading lines but I can see someone else’s eyes may be drawn a different way to mine. What do you think? Are your eyes led the same way as mine?
- The red line really leads me to the lad in the back of the boat.
- For me it is a vertical leading line between the trees leading to the waterfall.
- The open arch is the leading line for me looking through to the blue and the light house.

I’m not used to thinking of leading lines, but the rowing boat pic has a strong sense of movement, to me. Great pictures! You make me want to travel!!! 😉

The open arch photo is stunning. Would be beautiful if enlarged. The one with the waterfall, I might have cropped it where you could see the waterfall better. I don’t know if either of these are leading lines, but more frame within a frame. I do like the photos. The red does make the young man stand out more. Great post this week’s challenge.

Thank you! I hadn’t thought of the term a frame within a frame! I don’t have cropping capabilities at the moment. OR at least I am in the process of trying to figure out how to do it using Gimp or Paint. For some reason the cropping icon is not coming up on my Paint package. I managed one crop in Gimp but it seemed very complicated and I am sure there must be an easier way!

Wow, you’ve got a much better overview of this lines thing. I’m seeing it too literally, I’m afraid. Anyway, I love your photos continuously and repeatedly – as for the lines, that’s for the ‘why’ people. 🙂
