NZ – Kiwiana. Trinkets and Memories #30

Being a big fan of several Photo Challenges, I am now hosting one myself.I would love it if you could take part! This is the 30th week to date.  Please click here for the challenge outline. Please post a link to your post on this page and I will make sure I put it on my challenge page for others to see too!

I look forward to checking out your posts!

So without further adieu here is my 30th trinket

I am going to take a break until about mid-January as I am heading home to NZ for Christmas, in fact I will be 2 hours into my flight when this is posted. Love that scheduling function! Merry Christmas and all the best for 2016!

NZ-Kiwiana

Kiwiana

This picture was a gift from a dear Kiwi friend. It hangs in my living room in Japan. It is like name map of New Zealand starting with Cape Reinga in the north and working its way down to Stewart Island in the south.

I have visited most of these places and have fond memories of them all. I love the phonetic effort at the Maori place names. It is a bit of a piss take of the board kiwi accent rather than pure Maori pronunciation I think!

It is nice to have some reminders of home and to always know where my roots lie.

    • Thank Janet! I am wandering around sydney Botanical Gardens on a lovely summer&s day and have just popped into the NSW Art Gallery which is a stunner. Am taking a load of my feet before soaking up some art and heading back to airport. All the best to you and your loved ones!
