Moving on up Central America and I find myself in Antigua, Guatemala. Antigua is bright, colourful and welcoming, not a gun in sight!
Antigua is situated in the south of Guatemala. It is a small city and surrounded by volcanoes. It was a joy to wander around and made me very snappy happy!
It has a 500-year-old Spanish colonial history but in 1773, there was a massive earthquake which ended its time as the colonial capital. Many of the buildings were restored after the earthquake and it still maintains a bright colourful Spanish feel with cobbled streets and beautiful doors.

Glad to see you found these beautiful doors rather than being confronted with any guns, Leanne.
