Travel, quote and hats – Quote challenge 1

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow mindedness – Mark Twain

I love to travel, it has opened up my world, widened my views, taught me new things about myself and others, introduced me to new cultures and ways of thinking and made me a better more informed and more tolerant person.

I love this particular quote and use it in my tagline because it fits my love of travel and makes me think if more people could travel the world may be a better place for it. I am the eternal optimist! Come travel with me now to Vietnam.

Vietnam, the people and cone hats

This trip was a Habitat for Humanity Volunteer trip. Even I ended up wearing a cone hat!

I really enjoyed your series of 3 quotes.  I would like to invite 3 wonderful bloggers who I met on the Writing 101 course to share their favourite quotes.

  5. Ohhh, I love these images and the quote as well. I must repeat here the story I wrote under the last Badfish post: a couple of friends of mine (from Slovenia) were cycling around Asia, including Vietnam. They were in awe of the locals and their wide hats. They wished a couple for themselves and got some. When they were wearing them cycling around, they were getting really lots of laughter and snickering their way. They thought, foreigners and all. Until a kind soul explained to them that instead of buying a hat they managed to acquire a pair of rice sieves.
